SWIM FOR CLEAN SEAS RETURNS!
Come out to swim, for a good cause – to help raise awareness for keeping our seas clean!
April 21, 6:30 AM – 10 AM,
Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Resort
Open to all Ages above 8 with different
swim distances and levels.
In collaboration with Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center as our environmental partner and our first ever presentation of the works by the first by the first cohort of Swim for Clean Seas School Ambassadors.
This edition also sees the return of our Guiness Book records holder Swim fo Clean Seas Ambassador Dr Sarra Lajnef OLY – all coming together for our joint love of the sea.
Event Description
The event itself invites the community to participate in Swim for Clean Seas by signing up for different distances of 200 meters up to 3,200 meters on Saadiyat island. Jumeirah Saadiyat Island resort – anyone that does so gets a gift bag with items that are in some way promoting a change in habits, ie a tote bag, a steel flask, a bamboo tooth brush etc. In addition to this we also invite an expert speaker on the topic, that will have a speech on the day by our envirornmental partner – where they fill you in on the current state of the seas, what the news are, good and bad, and then teaches the audience what we as individuals can do on our own – how small daily changes if done collectively can create a much greater change. The sum is greater than its parts. While the event can be done as a race for those that want what we seek mostly participation and engagement, therefore we have both podium prizes and raffle prizes so that anyone that participates has a chance of winning!
